SHIPBOARD OPERATION FOR DECK OFFICERS
(BULK CARRIER)


Course Description:

This course on shipboard deck operation for junior officers cover the comprehensive competencies required or expected from deck personnel working on board commercial vessels serving the international trade. The modules enumerated below shall be given appropriate time allocation both for lecture or theoretical preparation and for practical application of the competencies.

The specific shipboard operational activities identified in this course shall prepare the trainees to perform and deliver the necessary skills and competencies needed for safe operation of vessel and for the protection of marine environment as well. The modules will touch on ship’s operational knowledge, activities and maintenance such as the International Regulation for Preventing Collision at Sea, Voyage Planning, Chart Symbols and Corrections, Port State and Vetting Inspection, Bulk Carrier Operation and List of Different Bulk Cargoes, its Operation and Maintenance.

Candidates: Open for deck cadet, 2nd and 3rd officer. with a minimum numbers of                       (5) participants and with a maximum numbers of (20) participants.
