MESSMAN COURSE


Course Description:

This course covers the comprehensive competencies required to become a responsible and effective mess man working on board in commercial and/or passenger vessels serving the international trade. The modules enumerated below shall be given appropriate time allocation both for lecture or theoretical preparation and for practical application of the competencies.

The specific shipboard operational activities identified in this course shall prepare the trainees to perform and deliver the necessary skills and competencies needed for safe operation of vessel and for the protection of marine environment as well. The modules will touch on ships maintenance such as the duties and responsibilities of Steward and Mess man; Proper Hygiene and Sanitation, Safe Working Procedure on Galley and Mess hall, Food Service Procedures, Basic Bartending, Good Housekeeping on Board, Basic Cooking, Baking bread and Cake Making.

Candidates: Open for GP Cadet, Messman, Steward. with a minimum numbers of (5) participants                      and with a maximum numbers of (10) participants.

Course Duration: 3 Days (18 hours)
