MARINE DIESEL MECHANIC


Course Description:

This course covers the comprehensive competencies required to become a responsible and effective mess man working on board in commercial and/or passenger vessels serving the international trade. The modules enumerated below shall be given appropriate time allocation both for lecture or theoretical preparation and for practical application of the competencies.

The specific shipboard operational activities identified in this course shall prepare the trainees to perform and deliver the necessary skills and competencies needed for safe operation of vessel and for the protection of marine environment as well. The modules will touch on ships maintenance such as the fundamental principle and operation of Diesel Engine, the right attitude towards work and care of tools that tackle in Shop Safety and Field Operation, Engine Overhauling and its Component, Fuel Injection System, Engine Troubleshooting.  The course also discusses system of measurement which is Metrology and Applied Mathematics.

Candidates: Open for engine cadet, junior and 4th Engineer. with minimum numbers of (5)                       participants and with the maximum numbers of (10) participants.
